It's back! That 90's trend..... Denim on Denim
Yes it is a pretty cringe worthy trend and all I can think of is B*witched!
It is very easy to get this look wrong or look like you have been attacked by the denim monster. It is also very easy to get this trend right! Denim comes in so many colours and patterns, it is easy to wear a complete denim outfit without over doing it.
Top // Shorts both from River Island |
When wearing denim of a similar colour try to mix patterns and material. The patterned shorts allow a breakage in the double denim. The western style shoulder material and spike detail on the shirt draw attention to the shoulders taking the eye away from the waist. Also crop tops can break up the denim.
Long sleeved shirt // Skinny jeans // shorts // sleeveless shirt (River Island) |
Mixing different colour denims makes this trend easier on the eye. Choose two contrasting colours like the tie dye purple shirt and light acid wash skinnies. Choose a high waisted pair of shorts with a statement belt like above to block the denim on denim.
Dress // necklace (h&M) // Jacket |
I choose this light denim dress and dark denim jacket, they are different shades but are still both blue. Wear a large chunky necklace like this tassel piece above to break the two colours.
Are you going to brave the double D?
Enjoy
